Pharmacology
This program is associated with the graduate program in pharmacology on the Twin Cities campus. All requirements for the master of science degree can be completed on the Duluth campus. Up to two semesters of coursework on the Twin Cities campus may be required for doctoral students. Courses and research provide opportunities for training in biochemical and physiological pharmacology, immunopharmacology, and toxicology. All students complete coursework in biochemistry, physiology, and statistics, as well as the major courses in pharmacology. In general, applicants should be well grounded in chemical and biological sciences and mathematics. Applicants must submit GRE General Test scores. Financial aid in the form of research assistantships is available through the department. When applying, students should specify whether they are applying for the master’s or doctorate program at UMD.
